Frequently Asked Questions

Johns’ Place and the 40 acres surrounding the property, has much to offer.  We encourage trail walks, tractor rides, carrots to horses, laugh at the hogs, and admire the Black Angus cows.  We are a working property; where there is always work being done such as….animal feeds, area cleaning, and equipment repair.  We thrive on people enjoying our property, there are however rules and suggestions.  Please ask for specifics but below are just a few.

  • Please enjoy the property, walk around, and please place any trash in supplied cans.
  • Please be quiet around the animals.  Horses spook and Black Angus are truly skittish. (If they jump the fence then we have a big problem).
  • Plan your event for the time of year and potential rain.  Johns’ Place can support upwards of 140 guests and the building has a wrap around, covered porch, still, no one likes to get wet.
  • The renting of Johns’ Place is a contract, so cancelling must be done within 2 weeks of your event.  We have many potential renters and while your event is set (upon receipt of deposit) should you need to cancel earlier than 2 weeks’ notice, we cannot fill the spot.  There will be no refund.
  • We have made the commitment to do everything possible to make your event the best ever.  Nobody offers 12 hour consecutive rental times.  Our thought is that nobody want to be told “It’s time to go”; just as the party begins!  We do however, need to insist that the rental period ends at 12 midnight, including cleanup.
  • Smoking must be done outside and butts in the trash!
